Here at T.E.F.A. We are always looking for new faces. However, there are prerequisites to membership.
General Airsoft Requirements:
When playing, ALL airsofters know you must have some protective gear on i.e. goggles, facemask, or some eye protection, or risk serious injury. Also all true airsofters know honesty is the best policy and as such, is a mandated requirement for ALL airsofters, if you can't be honest, you can't play. Simple.
Personally, if we believe someone on our team is not calling their hits, we will remind them that their honor is lacking.
The following are the basic gear requirements for all members on the team:
*Note: Just because its based on an actual combat force does NOT mean we have to COMPLETELY look the part.
Eye Protection (mandatory no matter what) - full face mask, shooting glasses, mesh goggles (all must pass the ANZI Z87.1 shatterproof and impact resistant safety requirement) not some reading glasses or aviators, may look cool, but losing an eye certainly isn't. (Players 18- are required to wear full face masks)
Woodland BDUs - basic camo/protection.
.25g BBs - Easily cut down any brush from the field, due to the weight (reduces FPS substantially, so get a 400+ FPS for maximum efficiency).
350+FPS Gun - we like to have guns that reach out to 150-200+ yards, not 20 feet.
Gun Bag - so you dont get into trouble with law enforcement. These are required by law as nowadays, toting a gun around is taken as an "intent to do harm" basis and it's better that children are not scared that way.
Substantial Load-Bearing Vest (MOLLE or Starter) - self explanitory but a MOLLE vest has webbing that can be used by straps to latch gear onto it and organize it in the way that is best for the user. Common attachments include: rifle and pistol magazine pouches, admin pouches, flashbang/grenade pouches and radio pouches. A Starter vest comes pre-equiped with the above mentioned but is not alterable.
1-3 Point Sling - so you don't damage your gun if you accidentally let go of it. The gun will typically have a loop on it that can have a sling attached.
Mags - High cap (usually not allowed except for weekend skirmishes) that have a large capacity to them, but require winding to reload.
Mid cap, so you dont have to wind mags up every 30 seconds of firing, but need a speed-loader to load effectively.
Low Cap mags, just for realism.
Water - canteen, hydrastorm, water bottle, something that carries liquid with you on the field. You will NOT regret it as dehydration can happen rapidly seeing as it is hot and humid and we play in full gear.
Head Cover - boonie, baseball cap, du rag, helmet, pro-tec.
Radio - Relay information without waving your hands around like a maniac and yelling/screaming "OVER HERE!!!!" Like an idiot.
Boots - Some form of durable shoe or boot.
*If you don't have some of these at first, we will help you out.
Optional Equipment:
Knee Pads - Don't want a scraped knee now, do we?
Contour Camera - So you can either boast or embarrass yourself after playing.
Magpul Magazine Catch - Makes it easier to load and unload mags.
Realistic Gun - Full Metal/Real Wood.
To become a full fledged member of T.E.F.A. Unit with all commanding priviledges (except your C.O.s), you must adhere to these rules:
First, you need an airsoft nebraska account from www.airsoftnebraska.com.
Second, you need to live in the eastern part of Nebraska and have reliable transportation to and from the fields (If you live in Lincoln and do not have a ride, we will take you for a $10 gas fee that everyone pays on different days).
Third, to be an official member, you need to be 19+ years of age. 18- are allowed to be on the team, at the field, but until they get old enough, they will have limited freedom of command. (unless a C.O. orders otherwise)
Fourth, you will be required to execute orders promptly (Unless it is unreasonable). If you fail to execute a reasonable order because you are "scared of getting hit". Then you should be at home cuddling mommy because you are too scared to fight. Excuses do NOT fly with us.
Fifth, friendly fire will NOT be tolerated. (Unless it is your first game)
And Sixth, but most important, have respect, respect for your fellow players, the guns, admin, the rules, and most importantly, bystanders. We like to play safely and responsibly and will not tolerate immaturity or disrespect.
*Note: Your first game with us determines your eligibility for the official team. If you are not able to or refuse to adhere to our rules or those of the G.O.A.A., you will lose all eligibility to join, be sent home, and kicked from the field and most certainly from the team. (If you have no ride, then you will have to wait for us to finish and leave)
*We typically use Elite Force .25g BBs, refuse Crosman and related brands due to their unreliability, and do NOT accept "Clear" or see-thru guns.
